Can you imagine? That&#8217;s 3 out of 4 people!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why is this so? Most likely it is due to the <strong>taboo<\/strong> on anger that many of us learned as children. Do you remember that in all children&#8217;s fairy tales, evil characters are angry? And parents could add fuel to the fire by <strong>criticizing anger<\/strong>. Or, conversely, if your relatives were hot-tempered, you might have a strong idea that \u200b\u200b\u201c<em>being angry is very scary and unsafe<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In general, for one reason or another, you may either suppress the anger in yourself or, conversely, show it excessively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Suppressing anger is a dangerous tactic<\/strong>. This leads to diseases. Both mental and physical.<\/li><li><strong>Expressing anger out of control is also bad<\/strong>. It destroys relationships and alienates people.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>What to do then? Here are some safe and effective ways to relieve anger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1) Name it<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Say clearly to your interlocutor: \u201c<em>I feel angry right now<\/em>.\u201d  Ideally, if you can, ask for a pause in communication. For example: &#171;<em>I am angry at you. Let\u2019s get back to this topic in a few minutes<\/em>&#171;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2) Spit it<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>If you can find a chance to be alone, go out for a couple of minutes and\u2026 spit as much as you want.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3) Puff like a locomotive<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Take a deep breath and exhale with force while making a sound resembling releasing steam. You can even imagine that you are releasing puffs of anger. Repeat this cycle 10 times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4) Physical activity<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>You can punch something soft (a pillow or a stuffed toy), jump up and down, punch a few times an imaginary boxing partner, throw something (without hurting yourself, others, or property).
